English: Fatimid talismanic scroll, 11th century, now in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The six-pointed star is the seal of Solomon, surrounded by Kufi text: ‘Glory to Allah, Praise be to Allah, there is no god but Allah' This top section seems to have been made from a separate block due to its skew.

35 lines of text: One in naskh inside a six-pointed star; one in Kufic, printed in reserve in a circle around the star. The remaining lines are in unvocalized naskh.

Decorative elements: at the top, a circle is bordered by a square composed of two parallel lines. The corners of the square contain stylized leaf decorations in outline. This appears to have been printed with a separate block either before or after the rest of the text. This uppermost text is skewed slightly toward the right.

Somewhat heavier pressure appears to have been applied to the lower right-hand section. There is a trace of more printing at the bottom of the piece. Remnants of another decoration or decorative text are partially visible at the bottom of the piece.

The piece is slightly narrower at the top; both the left- and right-hand margins are indented adjacent to the top text block. There is a pinhole in the third (?) word in line fifteen, also some slight abrasion and loss of text in line ten.
